Dr. Keri-Leigh Cassidy MD, FRCPC is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University and the Clinical Academic Director the Geriatric Psychiatry Program at Dalhousie University. Dr. Cassidy is the founder of a national mental health promotion effort, the “ Fountain of Health Initiative for Optimal Aging” (see www.fountainofhealth.ca) translating current science on psychosocial resilience and healthy aging to clinicians and to the public. She is a leader in Positive Psychiatry of Aging, and a founding member of the Association for Positive Psychiatry in Canada. Dr. Cassidy is a national leader in late life psychotherapy and author of an innovative Enhanced CBT Group Therapy program for seniors, and lecturer on Late Life Psychotherapies at the Canadian Academy for Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Cassidy was the 2013 recipient of the R. Wayne Putnam Award for Continuing Professional Development for her educational leadership in Atlantic Canada, and the 2014 recipient of the Canadian Academy for Geriatric Psychiatry’s Regional Contribution in Geriatric Psychiatry Award.
