Lauchlan Learned (M.S.W., R.S.W.) has taught mindfulness for over 30 years. Since 2010, she has been intensively involved with teaching mainstream mindfulness in Nova Scotia. She has been trained in 3 mindfulness-based interventions: Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management (MBCPM), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for Depression, and Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MBEAT). She was formerly a clinician with Nova Scotia Health in community mental health where she took the lead in developing the Mindfulness in Mental Health program. She also worked at Integrated Chronic Care Services where she taught the Body Mind Awareness Program, both on-site and on the tele-health network. Currently she facilitates an open mindfulness group weekly at the Community Health Team in Halifax. She also co-teaches the Mindfulness and Emotional Well-Being series at St. Mary’s University Continuing Education. Lauchlan stays current with the research on neuroscience and somatic therapy for trauma.
