ACC and the Coronavirus

ACC was formed in 2010 with the intent to make the benefits of mindfulness and related practices available to Atlantic Canada. One of those benefits is the ability to relate mindfully and compassionately with difficult situations. As we write this it would appear that our region, along with the entire world, is facing the possibility of significant disruption and challenges as a result of the Co-Vid 19 virus. ACC will provide whatever support we can to those who would like to use mindfulness related practices to help work with the challenges ahead. In that context we offer the following: A series of short videos on EFFECTIVE COMPASSION. Compassion for our self and others is particularly important in times when fear and frustration may be triggered by challenging changes in our lives. Fall Announcements

Dear Atlantic Mindful Network, The fall season is upon us. We have two exciting developments occuring at the ACC: The Bedford Open Mindfulness Group, Thursdays from 12-1 PM, located at the Community Health Team space, Bedford Place Mall, 1658 Bedford Highway, will begin having sessions every week starting this coming Thursday, September 5, 2019. The ACC will be hosting extended practice sessions once a month starting Saturday, September 21 at 5670 Spring Garden Road. The other session, all at Spring Garden location, will be on October 21, November 25 and December 7. These sessions are on Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 PM. New Open Mindfulness Groups Added

We are pleased to announce an expanded offering of open mindfulness group opportunities for 2019. New locations and times include:   Spring Garden OMG, Every Wednesday, 12-1:00 PM at 5670 Spring Garden Road, Suite 902; Dartmouth OMG, Every Thursday, 4-5:00 PM at the Community Health Team office, 58 Tacoma Drive; OMG at Bayers Road, Every Thursday, 12:15-1:15 PM at the Teamworkbridge Office, 5th floor boardroom of 7051 Bayers Road; Chester OMG, Every Thursday, 10:00-11:00 AM  at Our Health Centre, 3769 Highway #3, Chester, NS; Open Mindfulness in the Bay, Monthly, 4th Sunday of the month with the exceptions Jun-Aug 2019, 2:30-4:30 PM at the Tantallon Library; and Bedford OMG, Thursdays, June 6, 20; July 11, 25; Aug 8, 22 at12:00-1:00 PM Community Health Team, Bedford Place Mall, 1658 Bedford Highway. The ACC has a New Space!

The Atlantic Contemplative Center is pleased to announce that we now have our own space to host our programs, lectures and other educational program. The address for the new space is 5670 Spring Garden Road, Suite 902. The view is overlooking the Public Gardens. We have a main hall that can sit 30-40 people, a meeting room for up to 12 people, a small office the ACC and a kitchenette/coat room. Click here to view on map....
