Dr. Maria Patriquin MD CCFP is a family physician and founder of Living Well Integrative Health Center. She is an assistant professor at Dalhousie University Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Patriquin serves as the Atlantic Canada Representative for the Mental Health Committee of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and was awarded their 2016 PMH Care and Compassion Award. She is a founding and board member on the Association for Positive Psychiatry of Canada.
Dr. Patriquin believes that compassion, communication and collaboration are at the heart of what can transform health care from an illness to a wellness-based model. She is passionate about how these values and practices can help us evolve and thrive interpersonally, thus creating healthier lives, families and communities. She has subspecialty training in women’s health, MBSR, CBT and ACT and integrates practices into her primary care family and counselling practice while also offering 8 week mindfulness groups to patients, the public, educators and health care providers.
